MARKET OUTLOOK
Markets made a slightly positive start and soon turned volatile, tracking mixed cues from global markets. The selloff has been driven by hawkish signals from the US Federal Reserve, relentless foreign institutional investors (FIIs), concerns over high valuations, and souring investor sentiment. The Fed's cautious tone triggered sharp selloffs in US markets, which spilled over into Indian equities. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will chair the 55th meeting of the GST Council in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer, which is due tomorrow. The most significant agenda for the GST Council is the proposed rate cut on term health and life insurance. Ahead of the US Personal Consumption Expenditure data, the Fed's preferred inflation measure is due later in the day, which is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the Fed's interest rate path under the incoming Trump administration.
