Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is a public-sector enterprise specializing in aircraft, helicopters, aero engines, avionics, accessories, and aerospace structures. Organized into five complexes, it has 20 production divisions and 11 R&D centers. HAL relies on indigenous research and technology transfer agreements. In 2016, Hindustan Aeronautics upgraded its R&D center, and in 2017, it incorporated Indo-Russian Helicopters Limited. In 2018-19, the company produced 41 new aircraft and helicopters, overhauled 213 platforms, and overhauled 560 Russian and Western-origin engines.

In 2021, HAL supplied 83 LCA Mk1A to IAF, produced 34 new aircraft, and 80 engines, and overhauled 207. In FY 2022, HAL launched platform design and development programs, and signed MoUs with various companies.

Hindustan Aeronautics in 8th June 2023 Board meeting stated that that are “considering a proposal of sub-division of equity shares of the Company pursuant to the provisions of Section 61 (1) (d) of Companies Act, 2013.” The Proportion of the sub-division of equity shares of the company will be decided in a meeting scheduled to be held on June 27, 2023.

The stock on the following trading session on June 9th, 2023 opened 2 percent higher. The company has shown more than 11 percent of revenue growth Y-o-Y.  Y-o-Y profit after tax saw a rise of 14.7 percent to Rs. 5827 cr. Operating margin has been on the rise year-on-year and for FY23 operating margin was at 24%.

Market capitalization of Hindustan aeronautics stand at Rs. 117961.88 cr and is currently trading at P/E of 20.24.

The stock at time of reporting was trading at Rs. 3540 per share.
